It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. This medicine works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.

When prescribing a new prescription drug, a doctor or pharmacist will typically ask questions such as whether the drug is approved or not, who the patient is and what the patient’s medical history is.

The pharmacist may ask about the drug’s effectiveness, how often it works, and what side effects it may have. This can help the pharmacist determine which drug is best suited for a particular patient and make an appropriate prescription for the patient.

The pharmacist may also ask about the dosage, frequency of dosing, and how often the drug is taken. If the pharmacist feels the drug is not effective, the patient may be prescribed a lower dose. They may also be asked about side effects.

It’s important to note that while there may be a difference in effectiveness and side effects, the doctor and pharmacist are best equipped to assess the patient’s risk of side effects and determine the best course of action for the patient.

In some instances, a patient’s medical history will be included in a prescription, so it’s important to ask the pharmacist if any of the symptoms are related to the drug or any other medical condition.

It’s also important to note that not all drugs have the same benefits and side effects. For example, some medicines contain a combination of ingredients that may increase the risk of side effects. It’s always best to read and consult with your healthcare provider to determine the best course of action.

What is Celebrex?

Celebrex, also known by its generic name celecoxib, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The drug is commonly prescribed for arthritis pain and other conditions associated with inflammation and pain. Celebrex works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals released in response to inflammation.

Celebrex is classified as an OTC drug, meaning it has a low risk of side effects, while being FDA approved for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, as well as menstrual cramps.

Is Celebrex right for me?

Before considering Celebrex, the first question you should ask is:

  • Do you know whether or not Celebrex is safe to use?
  • Do you have questions about Celebrex?

In addition to the questions above, Celebrex should be used with caution if you have a history of heart attack or stroke, or if you have had a heart attack, stroke or heart failure. If you have liver or kidney problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should ask your doctor before taking Celebrex.

What is Celebrex used for?

Celebrex is primarily used to treat pain and inflammation caused by conditions that affect your stomach or intestine. It is also used to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal complications, such as ulcers or bleeding that occur with inflammation.

Celebrex is available as a generic drug and also as a prescription medication. It works by blocking certain natural substances (prostaglandins) in your body. These substances are hormones that can cause inflammation. Prostaglandins are hormones that cause pain and inflammation, but they also cause pain in the stomach and intestines.
